THE FIRST JUDGEMENT OF THE EARTH STARTED WITH WATER-IT ONLY MAKES SENSE THE LAST GENERATION WILL BE HAVING FLOODING
GENESIS 7:6-12
6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.
7 And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.
8 Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth,
9 There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.
10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.
11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
GOD PROMISED BY A RAINBOW-THE EARTH WOULD NEVER BE DESTROYED TOTALLY WITH A FLOOD AGAIN.BUT FLOODIING IS A SIGN OF JUDGEMENT.
Maritimes face more weather warnings for Sunday-CBC – FEB 21,15-YAHOONEWS
Maritimers could be forgiven if they look to the skies this weekend and cry "not again!"Weather warnings have been issued by Environment Canada for New Brunswick and Nova Scotia ahead of a system expected to pass through on Sunday. In New Brunswick, along the Fundy shore, it's expected to be a snow event with snowfall warnings issued for Fundy National Park, Grand Manan, coastal Charlotte County and the Saint John area. All three regions are expecting up to 15 centimetres of snow. The forecast for Nova Scotia is snow starting overnight Saturday, but change to heavy rain by Sunday morning.Rain at times heavy is expected along the South Shore into Digby County, in Halifax and along the Eastern Shore.Up to 30 millimetres are expected, but Environment Canada warns frozen ground won't be able to absorb the rain and could cause localized flooding in low lying areas.Prince Edward Island is expected to receive about 10 centimetres of snow overnight into Sunday, but no weather warnings have been issued.CBC meteorologist Kalin Mitchell says by 7 a.m. Sunday, the system will move across the Maritimes and everyone will see precipitation.
Halifax garbage pickup service finds foe in February storms-CBC – FEB 20,15-YAHOONEWS
The harsh February that has pounded Nova Scotia is leading to problems picking up garbage, recyclables and organics at some of the 140,000 homes in the Halifax Regional Municipality. On some streets, bins haven't been emptied in three weeks.Garbage truck drivers can refuse to collect from unsafe streets, but more often the service has been delayed because of snow clearing delays.Matt Keliher, the acting director of solid waste for the Halifax Regional Municipality, said if a crew determines it isn't safe to pick up garbage or recyclables on a street, they can return later in the day to see if it can collected."At the end of the day, our contractors will document those streets that haven't been able to be serviced and will circle back and double check and collect at the end of the day that they have been plowed and will collect the garbage at the end of the curb," he said.Keliher said there are also "one-off" situations where bags aren't picked up because they were hidden behind mounds of ice or snow. The municipality has cancelled collections for one day in February. To report that your street has been missed or for more information, the Halifax Regional Municipality suggests calling 311 or checking their website.
Toronto mother faces charges after boy found wandering naked in cold-CBC – FEB 20,15-YAHOONEWS
Toronto police say they are charging the mother of a four-year-old boy after the child was found wandering outside in the bitter cold today in the city's west end.The 23-year-old woman is facing a charge of abandonment of a child under the age of 10.The boy (who police originally said was three) was found today around 1:30 p.m. ET at Lake Shore Boulevard West and Twelfth Street in Etobicoke. The expected high today in Toronto was –14 C.A neighbour heard the boy crying and saw him out a window. She recognized the boy and scooped him up in a blanket, but after going to to the child's house found nobody home. The neighbour took the child to her own house and called police an hour later, police said.Const. Jeniffer Sidhu said it appears a neighbour found the Etobicoke child "just in enough time."There were no signs of injury or distress to the boy, but he was taken to St. Joseph's Health Centre as a precaution. "The child was able to say, 'Mommy goes.'" Sidhu said. The incident comes one day after the death of a three-year-old Toronto boy who wandered away from home in the middle of the night and spent almost six hours outside. On Thursday, Elijiah Marsh left the low-rise apartment building where he was staying at around 4 a.m. and was later found without vital signs. He was pronounced dead in hospital a few hours later.
Another winter storm to pummel eastern United States with snow and sleet-Reuters-FEB 21,15-YAHOONEWS
(Reuters) - A fresh band of winter weather was pounding parts of the Tennessee and Ohio valleys with snow and rain on Saturday as it headed toward the U.S. East Coast, threatening to bring more misery to storm-weary Boston. The system cut a 2,000 mile path from southern Missouri to Maine, with a winter storm warning in effect until Sunday for parts of southern Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia and Western Pennsylvania, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.In Kentucky and Tennessee, forecasters warned of possible flooding as rain fell on frozen ground. The system was expected to bring a wintry mix of rain, sleet and snow from Washington to New York City, followed by another blast of bone-chilling cold.Boston, already hit by 98.7 inches (251 cm) of snow this winter, was due more, said Bob Oravec, a meteorologist with the NWS. "Boston has had a lot of heavy snow this winter and it looks like they are going to get some more," he said. The city's snowfall is about 68 inches (173 cm) above the average yearly total of 31 inches (79 cm), Oravec said.Another blast of Arctic air will follow the storm system, with well-below freezing temperatures in store on Monday for millions of people along the East Coast. In Brooklyn on Friday, temperatures hovered around 4 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 15.6 degrees Celsius), beating the record low of 7 degrees set in 1950, according to NWS records.A 119-year-old record low temperature for Feb. 20 was broken in Washington, with a temperature of 5 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 15 degrees Celsius) recorded at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. At least four people have died because of the cold weather in Kentucky, officials said, and at least two people froze to death outside in Pennsylvania.(Reporting by Victoria Cavaliere; Editing by David Holmes)
Eastern U.S. bitter cold snap brings pain, grimaces and wonder-Reuters By Jonathan Allen February 20, 2015 1:13 PM-YAHOONEWS
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Millions of people awoke to painfully cold weather in the eastern United States on Friday, with temperatures frigid enough in New York City and Washington to break decades-old record lows for Feb. 20.New Yorkers hid much of their faces under hoods, hats and scarves but could not entirely hide their grimaces as they hurried down sidewalks to work. Parts of the East River had scabbed over with ice. Commuters' breath was visible on subway platforms deep below the ground and the wind.A small crowd marveled at a water fountain in the middle of Manhattan, which the weather had transformed into a time-stopped gush of ice."It's beautiful," Robinson Milhomme said, bundled up, clutching coffee. At his small grocery store in Brooklyn's Fort Greene neighborhood, Mohammad Islam, 30, anticipated selling a lot of hot coffee as the temperature outside hovered around 4 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 15.6 degrees Celsius), beating the record low of 7 degrees set in 1950 according to National Weather Service records."I've never seen cold like this," he said unhappily, noting he had moved to New York from Bangladesh in 2003. "So much cold!"In marched a customer wearing two woolly hats, two winter coats and many more layers besides, singing loudly."All I got to do is dress warm," Ludlow Chamberlain, a 76-year-old custodian at a nearby concert hall, said before counting off his layers on two hands.Friends in his native Jamaica often ask him at this time of year when he plans to move back to the Caribbean. Never, he tells them. "We don't get it 365 days a year so we shouldn't complain," he said. The National Weather Service said widespread subzero temperatures were recorded overnight on Thursday, from Illinois to western Virginia, and predicted that highs would struggle to leave the teens on Friday.A 119-year-old record for the date was broken near the U.S. capital, with a temperature of 5 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 15 degrees Celsius) recorded at the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. The bitter cold cracked rails on the city's subway system, causing delays. In Philadelphia, the Roman Catholic archdiocese deemed it too cold for children, and closed all the schools it runs in the city.At least four people have died because of the cold weather in Kentucky, officials said, and at least two people froze to death outside in Pennsylvania.Record lows were also reported in parts of Florida, although in some cases having to put on a sweater was the only hardship after dawn broke."It's actually pretty nice in the sun," Mitchell Bailey, a 23-year-old vacationer from Michigan, said as he ate breakfast at an outdoor cafe in a beach town on Florida's west coast.Morris Armey, 52, warmed up with a cigarette and a can of beer on a beach near St. Petersburg, Florida, after a night of near freezing temperatures and no heat on the 36-foot sailboat where he lives."I'll take this over up north any day," he said.(Additional reporting by Laila Kearney in New York, Ian Simpson in Washington, David DeKok in Pennsylvania, Letitia Stein in St. Petersburg and Tim Ghianni in Nashville, Editing by Lisa Lambert and Andrew Hay)
