Watch: ISIS Captures Millions of Dollars, Gold Ingots-Video shows Islamic State fighters showing off the spoils of war, after seizing cash and gold from a prominent Iraqi official.By Ari Soffer-First Publish: 9/21/2014, 9:08 PM-ISRAELNATIONALNEWS

The world's richest terrorist organization just got richer.A video uploaded onto the internet and translated by MEMRI shows Islamic State (IS) fighters parading a haul of millions of dollars and several gold ingots seized from the home of a prominent Iraqi official in Nineveh Province. The treasure trove was found in the home of Osama al-Nujayfi, the former speaker of Iraq's parliament; in the video an IS fighter estimated its value in "the billions".Whatever the precise amount, it's certainly a coup for the jihadi group which has swept through Iraq and northern Syria and is believed to be largely self-sufficient financially.Much of its wealth is accumulated through organized crime rings or the sale of oil on the black market - but a lot is also brought in a booty from the battlefield.
New Tank Cartridge Made for Urban Warfare-The 120mm Hatzav delayed action cartridge first penetrates outer wall of structure, then explodes.By Gil Ronen-First Publish: 9/21/2014, 9:04 PM- ISRAEL ATIONAL NEWS
The IDF Armored Corps has begun using the Israel Military Industries (IMI) Hatzav shell (M329 APAM-MP-T), after first deploying it operationally during Operation Protective Edge in the Gaza Strip. The projectile was developed by IMI and the IDF Ground Arm following to lessons drawn from the Second Lebanon War and Operation Cast Lead. The 120mm Hatzav shell, fitted with a delay mechanism, is intended to penetrate the first, outer wall of a building and only detonate inside the building. “The shell is highly accurate and provides tanks with a surgical urban warfare tool that minimizes collateral damage,” explains Israel Defense.According to Col. Nissim Levy, Head of the Authority for Tank Development, the cartridge is ideally suited for eliminiating terrorists who are inside a building. “Terrorists will not survive an explosion like this inside a structure,” he said. The Hatzav – which belongs to the same family as the IDF's Rakefet and Kalanit shells – can be fired at ranges of up to 5 km, or about 3 miles. It will replace the “Halulan” shell in the Merkava Mark 3 and 4 tanks. Every tank in Operation Protective Edge received a limited supply of the shells, and a total of about 500 were used during the counter-terror campaign.
Hezbollah Drone Strikes Syria Rebels-Iranian report says combined air and ground strike killed dozens of Al Nusra Front members. First known use of attack UAV by Hezbollah.By Arutz Sheva-First Publish: 9/21/2014, 9:40 PM-ISRAELNATIONALNEWS

Iran's Lebanese proxy, Hezbollah, successfully used an attack drone in a strike that killed tens of Al Nusra Front members near Arsal, Syria, according to Iran's Fars news agency. The agency said the armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) was used in a combined air and ground strike on the Lebanon-Syria border. Beside the drones, Hezbollah employed artillery and light arms against the Syrian rebel forces. An Iranian source said that Hezbollah had recently begun to use attack drones, which were apparently made in Iran. The Air Force conducted a rehearsal earlier this year for an event in which an enemy UAV infiltrates Israeli airspace. Both jet fighter and combat helicopter squadrons took part in the rehearsal, and practiced interception of a UAV near Israel's border, reported the Air Force Website. The IAF sees the threat as a growing one and the air crews rehearsed situations in which the most sophisticated UAVs in existence attempt to infiltrate – including models that Israel has never encountered. On April 25, 2013, a UAV penetrated Israeli air space from Lebanon, and was shot down. IAF aircraft belonging to the aerial defense array identified an aircraft making its way from Lebanon into Israeli airspace, and fighter jets and combat helicopters were scrambled. The UAV was still over the Mediterranean sea when the IAF Commander gave instructions to shoot it down.Hezbollah denied it had sent that drone towards Israel. In October of 2012, Hezbollah succeeded in sending a UAV that penetrated Israeli airspace before it was shot down. The embedded video below is from that event.
Pope Francis: 'Religion Cannot Justify Violence'-Holy See makes reference to Islamist extremism in trip to Albania to promote religious tolerance.By Arutz Sheva Staff-First Publish: 9/21/2014, 2:40 PM / Last Update: 9/21/2014, 3:07 PM-ISRAELNATIONALNEWS
Pope Francis warned during a visit to Albania on Sunday that religion can never be used to justify violence, making apparent reference to the bloodshed wreaked by the Islamic State terrorist organization in Iraq and Syria (ISIS)."Let no one consider themselves to be the 'armor' of God while planning and carrying out acts of violence and oppression," the pontiff said in speech at the presidential palace in Tirana in front of Albania's leaders."May no one use religion as a pretext for actions against human dignity and against fundamental rights," he said. The 77-year-old spiritual leader of the world's 1.2 billion Catholics made the declaration at the start of a packed one-day visit to majority-Muslim Albania, which he held up as an "inspiring example" of religious harmony.Authorities in the country stepped up security to its highest level after warnings from Iraq that the IS jihadists could be planning an attack on the pope. His reception by the general public was enthusiastic, however, with hundreds of thousands of Christians and Muslims thronging the Albanian capital to greet him.Francis in his speech praised the "respect and mutual trust between Catholics, Orthodox (Christians) and Muslims" in Albania, which he called "a precious gift to the country."He stressed that such coexistence was especially important "in these times where an authentic religious spirit is being perverted and where religious differences are being distorted and instrumentalized".In a seeming reference to the Islamic State organization, which espouses a radical and brutal interpretation of Islam to pursue a dream of reviving a caliphate in Syria and Iraq, the pope said the twisting of faith "created dangerous circumstances which led to conflict and violence."His packed 11-hour trip to Albania comes at a sensitive time amid turmoil in the Middle East and rising intolerance in Europe. The Vatican has voiced unusual support for US air strikes in Iraq to defend persecuted Christians there. At the same time, though, the pope is spreading his message of interfaith tolerance around the world - and doing what he can to attract more devotees to his church. The Holy See hopes Albania - a country with one of the youngest populations in Europe - will be a vibrant source for converts in a continent gripped by secularism. It is the second papal visit to Albania in modern times. Pope John Paul II travelled there the year after the collapse of its communist regime in 1992.Yellow-and-white Vatican flags flew alongside Albanian ones in the main streets of the capital while vast portraits of Catholic priests and nuns persecuted under communism - when Albania became the world's first atheist state - were strung across roads.Huge crowds of Albanians gathered along Tirana's main boulevard and the central Mother Teresa Square where the pope was to later celebrate Mass. Some waved welcome banners while others chanted: "Papa Francesco! Papa Francesco!"The Argentine pontiff, who loves to mingle with the crowds, travelled in the same open-topped vehicle he uses in Saint Peter's Square. He stopped on several occasions along the boulevard to shake hands with believers or to take children in his arms.Hysen Doli, an 85-year-old Muslim who had come to the square with 10 members of his family, told AFP: "We belong to another religion but have come here out of respect to get the pope's blessing."'We can all work together!' In August, Francis said that his presence in Albania "will be a way of saying to everyone, 'See, we can all work together!'"He was scheduled to meet the heads of the country's other religious communities including Muslim, Orthodox, Bektashi, Jewish and Protestant leaders, and to visit orphans. The pontiff also wanted to honor those who suffered under former communist dictator Enver Hoxha, during whose rule priests and imams were persecuted and many churches and mosques razed.Between 1945 and 1985, dozens of priests, seminarians and bishops died in detention or were executed.Nearly 2,000 Orthodox and Catholic churches were destroyed or transformed into cinemas, theaters and dance halls, according to Francis, who said the successful rebirth of the Catholic faith after such persecution made Albania a place where "I felt like I should go."The revival of Catholicism is due in part to the popularity of Mother Teresa, an ethnic Albanian born in neighboring Macedonia.Yet only about 15 percent of the population is Catholic, with Muslims in the majority with 56 percent, and the Orthodox making up 11 percent.
Heightened security
The Vatican has insisted it has not increased security for the trip, but Albania's interior ministry said police have set up 29 checkpoints in downtown Tirana, where most of the pope's activities were planned. Some Vatican watchers feared Francis had made himself a target by speaking out against the Islamic State organization, and the Vatican stated Saturday that it had upped security around its own headquarters due to terrorism concerns.Albania last month began sending weapons and ammunition to Kurdish forces fighting IS militants in Iraq, and security sources in the country have dismissed fears that home-grown militants might be planning an attack.
Netanyahu: Go Easy on Iran So It Fights ISIS? That's Absurd-Prime Minister scoffs at the idea that western powers should soften up on Iran's nuclear weapons so that it will fight ISIS.By Gil Ronen-First Publish: 9/21/2014, 10:13 PM-ISRAELNATIONALNEWS
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu scoffed Sunday at the idea that western powers should go easy on Iran's nuclear weapons program so that it will cooperate in fighting ISIS.Speaking at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem, he said: "I know for a certainty what Menachem Begin would say about something I have been hearing more and more about in recent days from esteemed commentators in the West.“They are saying that the major powers need to go easy on Iran's nuclear program so that Iran will fight ISIS.“They are fighting ISIS for their own interests. They are fighting over who will be the ruler of the Islamist world that they want to set over the entire world. It is as if Assad would say 'Go easy on my chemical weapons. Give me back my chemical weapons so that I can fight ISIS.' Both are absurd.“ Menachem Begin would reject this outright and so do I. Iran must not be allowed to become a nuclear threshold state."
