The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court in May lifted a restraining order against Glick ascending to Judaism's holiest site, with Judge Miriam Kalasi granting him permission to visit once a month, as long as he did not carry a smartphone or camera.The restraining order was put into effect in September, after a Muslim woman accused Glick of pushing her on the Mount, resulting in a broken arm. Glick denies the allegation.After listening to arguments Mosek sided with the prosecution, who appealed Kalasi's lifting of the ban, over Glick, who wished all suspensions against him to be removed."The duty of the court is to examine the surface of things, among others, against the background of the explosive situation on the Temple Mount - a situation that is known to all," the Judge wrote in his ruling."The courts, with their differing decisions, both returned and described the situation on the Temple Mount. The Israeli Air Force attacked three terrorist infrastructures in Gaza on Wednesday night, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said.The attack came in retaliation for the rocket fire on southern Israel on Wednesday evening, the statement said."The IDF views the incident seriously,” the IDF Spokesperson said, adding that Hamas, being the de facto ruler of Gaza, is responsible for any rocket fire from the region.“Red Alert” rocket sirens were heard on Wednesday at around 11:00 p.m. (local time) in some communities in southern Israel, among them in the Ashkelon and Netivot areas.Two rockets from Gaza exploded in the Sdot Negev region. There were no physical injuries or damages.Following the attack, Yisrael Beytenu chairman Avigdor Liberman said that it is the Israeli government’s “policy of restraint” that is to blame for the resumption of rocket attacks.“Powerlessness leads to failure. The policy led by the Prime Minister, of restraint and containment and obvious reluctance to topple the Hamas terror regime, leads to the residents of the south and then all the residents of Israel, again being held hostage by the terrorists in Gaza,” Liberman said.“Israel must respond firmly and not just issue a verbal response or bomb empty sands,” he added.Tamir Idan, head of the Sdot Negev Regional Council, also called on the government to respond to the attack.“We are into the summer and again we find ourselves faced with alarms and rockets falling in our territory. If you were the CEO of this company you would act the same.”Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely late Wednesday convened a meeting of top officials to discuss a response. Hotovely, her office said, has discussed the matter with Israel's embassy in Paris, where Orange's world headquarters are located, and intends to issue an official statement later Wednesday or Thursday morning. Officials in the Ministry said they were “surprised” by the comments.Meanwhile, angry responses from Israeli political leaders, and supporters of Israel in Europe, began pouring in. Yesh Atid head MK Yair Lapid said that Richard's comments were “chutzpah (arrogance) to the highest degree. I do not recall that he and his company had any problem taking money from Israel when prices were higher and the company was very profitable,” unlike now, when profits at Orange Israel have been hurt badly by the new competitors in the cellphone business.“Israel is an island of sanity in the world's toughest neighborhood, and we are not prepared to be lectured on morality from Europeans who live a quiet, untroubled life,” he added.Orange has been targeted by a BDS campaign in Egypt and several European countries. The company raised the ire of BDS groups who allege that the Israel operation provided free phone calls to IDF soldiers fighting in Gaza during last summer's Operation Protective Edge. In the past several weeks, large numbers of Egyptians have switched companies, putting a dent into the company's business there. A shocking case in Spain of anti-Semitic incitement online displays just how the internet is being used to call for murder against the Jewish people, and how the legal system in Europe can play a role in countering the trend.The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) on Thursday expressed its approbation of the arrest of a 28-year-old foreign national in Ribaforada, Spain, who had shared extreme anti-Semitic content and videos online, with the Spanish Ministry of the Interior noting on Saturday the "gravity and brutality of the content."
The unnamed foreign national posted numerous videos, one of which featured three visibly Muslim women chanting "catch and kill all the Jews. Strike them and make the Jews bleat like animals. Exterminate the Zionists. Exterminate them, exterminate them, the world will be better off."As they chanted, one of the women in the video stabbed a doll in the image of an Orthodox Jew with a knife, giving a physical representation to their shrill call to murder.Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director, said, "if you call for Jews to be killed, you should be prosecuted and go to jail. That should be the standard, especially in Europe where we have seen several anti-Semitic murders over the past few years.""Spain deserves praise for upholding that principle in this case, even though Spain and other European governments have failed to prosecute other instances of clear incitement to murder Jews," said Foxman.An in-depth ADL poll conducted in 100 countries found last May that 29% of respondents in Spain have anti-Semitic attitudes, with 48% agreeing with the statement: "Jews still talk too much about what happened to them in the Holocaust."

The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court in May lifted a restraining order against Glick ascending to Judaism's holiest site, with Judge Miriam Kalasi granting him permission to visit once a month, as long as he did not carry a smartphone or camera.The restraining order was put into effect in September, after a Muslim woman accused Glick of pushing her on the Mount, resulting in a broken arm. Glick denies the allegation.After listening to arguments Mosek sided with the prosecution, who appealed Kalasi's lifting of the ban, over Glick, who wished all suspensions against him to be removed."The duty of the court is to examine the surface of things, among others, against the background of the explosive situation on the Temple Mount - a situation that is known to all," the Judge wrote in his ruling."The courts, with their differing decisions, both returned and described the situation on the Temple Mount. Thus, that resonates when we examine the parole conditions of someone who allegedly committed a violent crime on the Temple Mount."The judge ruled that the Magistrate's Court had erred when it determined there was enough of a change in circumstances to warrant a cancellation of the restraining order pending Glick's trial."I believe there was no substantial change in circumstances to lead to the conclusions reached by the Magistrate's Court, whereby the respondent [Glick] was granted permission to enter the Temple Mount compound at least once a month.""The danger of similar events has not passed, and therefore there is no justification to cancel or change the set conditions, according to which the respondent is barred from the Temple Mount until the end of proceedings against him," Mosek concluded.

The Israeli Air Force attacked three terrorist infrastructures in Gaza on Wednesday night, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said.The attack came in retaliation for the rocket fire on southern Israel on Wednesday evening, the statement said."The IDF views the incident seriously,” the IDF Spokesperson said, adding that Hamas, being the de facto ruler of Gaza, is responsible for any rocket fire from the region.“Red Alert” rocket sirens were heard on Wednesday at around 11:00 p.m. (local time) in some communities in southern Israel, among them in the Ashkelon and Netivot areas.Two rockets from Gaza exploded in the Sdot Negev region. There were no physical injuries or damages.Following the attack, Yisrael Beytenu chairman Avigdor Liberman said that it is the Israeli government’s “policy of restraint” that is to blame for the resumption of rocket attacks.“Powerlessness leads to failure. The policy led by the Prime Minister, of restraint and containment and obvious reluctance to topple the Hamas terror regime, leads to the residents of the south and then all the residents of Israel, again being held hostage by the terrorists in Gaza,” Liberman said.“Israel must respond firmly and not just issue a verbal response or bomb empty sands,” he added.Tamir Idan, head of the Sdot Negev Regional Council, also called on the government to respond to the attack.“We are into the summer and again we find ourselves faced with alarms and rockets falling in our territory. Ministers and MKs in Israel were up in arms Wednesday night over comments made by world Orange CEO Stephane Richard that he would end the company's franchise contract with Israel's Partner Communications “tomorrow” if he could get away with it.“We want to terminate this and to fix this, we don’t want it,” Richard said at a press conference in Cairo. “In the existing contract, it gives us the option to terminate this without exposing this to a huge financial risk. If you were the CEO of this company you would act the same.”Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely late Wednesday convened a meeting of top officials to discuss a response. Hotovely, her office said, has discussed the matter with Israel's embassy in Paris, where Orange's world headquarters are located, and intends to issue an official statement later Wednesday or Thursday morning. Officials in the Ministry said they were “surprised” by the comments.Meanwhile, angry responses from Israeli political leaders, and supporters of Israel in Europe, began pouring in. Yesh Atid head MK Yair Lapid said that Richard's comments were “chutzpah (arrogance) to the highest degree. I do not recall that he and his company had any problem taking money from Israel when prices were higher and the company was very profitable,” unlike now, when profits at Orange Israel have been hurt badly by the new competitors in the cellphone business.“Israel is an island of sanity in the world's toughest neighborhood, and we are not prepared to be lectured on morality from Europeans who live a quiet, untroubled life,” he added.Orange has been targeted by a BDS campaign in Egypt and several European countries. The company raised the ire of BDS groups who allege that the Israel operation provided free phone calls to IDF soldiers fighting in Gaza during last summer's Operation Protective Edge. In the past several weeks, large numbers of Egyptians have switched companies, putting a dent into the company's business there. Richard was in Cairo, among other reasons, to plead with customers not to leave the company.The only reason Orange has not terminated its franchise contract with Partner – from which, Richard said, “we make very little money” - was to avoid litigation in Israeli courts. “"Sorry to say, but a dispute with Partner when you have zero legal position in Israeli courts is not something that I would recommend for my company. I am not going to pay hundreds of millions of euros only because I would have (to) take a risk, a huge risk, in terms of the penalties that we could have if we entered into this kind of brutal process,” he said.In Israel, Orange is represented by Partner Communications, and Israeli-Chinese owned concern that franchises the name Orange. A shocking case in Spain of anti-Semitic incitement online displays just how the internet is being used to call for murder against the Jewish people, and how the legal system in Europe can play a role in countering the trend.The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) on Thursday expressed its approbation of the arrest of a 28-year-old foreign national in Ribaforada, Spain, who had shared extreme anti-Semitic content and videos online, with the Spanish Ministry of the Interior noting on Saturday the "gravity and brutality of the content."
The unnamed foreign national posted numerous videos, one of which featured three visibly Muslim women chanting "catch and kill all the Jews. Strike them and make the Jews bleat like animals. Exterminate the Zionists. Exterminate them, exterminate them, the world will be better off."As they chanted, one of the women in the video stabbed a doll in the image of an Orthodox Jew with a knife, giving a physical representation to their shrill call to murder.Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director, said, "if you call for Jews to be killed, you should be prosecuted and go to jail. That should be the standard, especially in Europe where we have seen several anti-Semitic murders over the past few years.""Spain deserves praise for upholding that principle in this case, even though Spain and other European governments have failed to prosecute other instances of clear incitement to murder Jews," said Foxman.An in-depth ADL poll conducted in 100 countries found last May that 29% of respondents in Spain have anti-Semitic attitudes, with 48% agreeing with the statement: "Jews still talk too much about what happened to them in the Holocaust."
