AT 10AM LOS ANGELES TIME-1:00PM EST. REPORTS OF SHOTS FIRED AT THE ENGENEERING DEPARTMENT. THE CAMPUS POLICE GOT TO THE SCENE. AND 2 MALES WERE SHOT TO DEATH. REPORTS SAY IT WAS A TALL WHITE PERSON WITH A WHITE TOP THE SHOOTER. THE SHOOTER IS STILL SOMEWHERE. MAYBE LEFT THE UCLA BUILDING OR NOT. THE UCLA CAMPUS IS CURRENTLY ON LOCK DOWN. THE POLICE ARE SAYING ONE OF THE 2 DEAD MALES MAY BE THE SHOOTER. BUT THEY DO NOT KNOW. AND AS A RESULT THEIR STILL LOOKING FOR A SHOOTER OR SHOOTERS. THE 2 DEAD WERE INSIDE THE ENGENEERING BUILDING. Two people are dead following a shooting on the campus of UCLA. The LAPD responded to multiple calls of shots fired at approximately 10 a.m. in an engineering building. The campus was placed on lockdown and students were told to shelter in place as police SWAT teams conducted a tactical search-The FBI and ATF are assisting in the investigation.It's unclear if the shooter or shooters are still at large.
UCLA Police Chief Jim Herren confirmed that two people died in this morning’s shooting at the campus.“We have an active search to ensure that there are no further victims, that no one else is in harm’s way. And we’re still searching to see if there is a suspect that may be in the area,” he told reporters around 11:40 a.m. local time. “Those are questions we don’t have answered yet.”Immediately upon learning about the shooting, Herren said, UCLA Police put out a “Bruin Alert,” which is their campus alert notification system to advise everyone in their community of an incident occurred that could be dangerous to them.“Right now, currently, the campus is on lockdown,” he said. “We have literally hundreds of police officers and agents here on campus assisting in this active situation.”UCLA Police, he said, is working in concert with the FBI, the LAPD, ATF, LAFD, and Santa Monica College Police.“We have a lot of resources here that we are dedicating to ensure the safety of this entire campus community,” he said.The victims, both male, were found inside the engineering building, Herren said.It's unclear whether the shooter was among the deceased, he added.
